A father and son team, holding IT to a higher standard since 1999
We are a national managed IT, cyber security and AI firm that deliberately serves fewer clients so we can do more for each of them. Here is where that philosophy comes from.
Where our standard was set
Before DJC existed, our founder Daniel Church spent seven years at Concurrent Computer Corporation, managing the mainframes that ran the TAB, Tattersalls, and systems for the Department of Defence. In that world, downtime was a public event with a per-minute price tag, reliability was non-negotiable, and security was assumed to be under attack at all times.
Three rules came out of those years, and they have run DJC since 1999: uptime at any cost, reliability at all costs, security at all costs. The tools have changed completely in 27 years. The rules have not needed to.
The second generation
Julian Church joined DJC over a decade ago, straight out of high school. But he did not start from zero: he had watched his father run the business for most of his life. Today he is our General Manager, leading the team that delivers everything we promise, from managed IT to the AI systems and software we build for clients. When we say DJC is owner-led, we mean both generations, and we mean accountable: the people whose name is on the business are the people responsible for your roadmap.
The team behind the owners
Owner-led does not mean owner-only. Behind Daniel and Julian is a national team of 25 managing more than 1,200 users every day, with tenure that is rare in this industry: more than one in ten of our people have been at DJC over a decade, including senior leaders across finance, operations and engineering. Clients stay with us for decades partly because our people do.
Why we choose fewer clients
Most IT providers grow by adding clients. We grow by doing more for the ones we have: the managed IT, the security, the strategy, the AI opportunity, and the custom software nobody else in our market can build. That model only works with deep relationships with the people accountable for IT, and it shows in the numbers below. Our first two clients from 1999 are still with us. We think that is the only credential that really matters.
Where we are
DJC was founded in Melbourne, where our head office remains, with further offices in Sydney, on the Gold Coast, and at Tewantin on the Sunshine Coast. Both owners are now based in South East Queensland: Daniel on the Sunshine Coast and Julian on the Gold Coast. We serve clients nationally, with local depth across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
