Antivirus blocks known malicious files. EDR watches the behaviour of your computers and servers, so it can detect attackers using legitimate tools, stolen credentials or new techniques that antivirus has never seen. Managed EDR adds people who review detections and respond.
Do we still need Microsoft Defender?
Yes. Huntress works alongside Microsoft Defender Antivirus and manages it, rather than replacing it. You keep Defender's protection and gain Huntress's detection and 24/7 SOC.
Who responds when Huntress finds something?
The Huntress SOC confirms the threat and can isolate the affected machine straight away. DJC then handles the remediation on the ground and explains what happened and what we changed.
